Families Explore Hands-On Learning at BECC Curriculum Night

The Brentwood Early Childhood Center welcomed families on Wednesday, Dec. 3, for its first-ever Curriculum Night—an evening designed to showcase the hands-on, play-based learning experiences that define the BECC program. The event drew strong attendance from both new and returning families eager to see how curiosity, creativity and connection come to life in the classroom.

Throughout the evening, families toured thoughtfully designed learning spaces, explored interactive materials and observed how the center’s constructivist approach supports each child’s development. BECC educators shared insights into daily routines, curriculum practices and the intentional strategies used to foster independence, problem-solving and a love of learning in Brentwood’s youngest students.

"We were thrilled to open our doors and invite families into our classrooms," said Beth Clay, Brentwood's director of early childhood education. "Curriculum Night is an opportunity for us to highlight the meaningful learning that happens through play and to strengthen our partnership with families."

From sensory exploration to early numeracy activities, families had the chance to engage in the same kinds of experiences their children enjoy each day. The evening also provided time for connection and conversation, reinforcing the strong sense of community that is central to the BECC experience.
